About SimVantage
A TU Graz Spin-Off for Bioprocess Simulation

SimVantage started as a research project with Novartis/Sandoz. Today we work with biopharma teams across Europe and beyond.

Our Story

Our work began about 15 years ago as a research project at Graz University of Technology (TU Graz). Novartis/Sandoz worked closely with us and was one of the first companies to see that CFD simulation of bioreactors could be useful in production.

At the end of 2021 the project became an independent company. We now have six team members, three of them working on a PhD. We want biopharma engineers to use simulation in their daily work, so it has to be precise and fast.

Recognition

FDA BAA Grant 2025

In 2025 SimVantage received the FDA BAA Grant, as the only company outside the USA to do so. We work on regulatory-relevant bioprocess simulation and combine first-principles CFD models with data-driven methods.

Roots

Scientific Rigor for Industrial Use

We still start from the physics and build the model on top of it, the way we learned at TU Graz, and the university remains a close partner. A model has to hold up in a peer-reviewed paper and also answer a question from the plant.
